The capital of Russia is an impressive and fascinating city of wide boulevards, huge squares and a mixture of old and new.

The most famous site is the imposing Kremlin - the ancient fortress of the city and now the seat of the President - which houses cathedrals, government buildings and museums, against the backdrop of the Red Square and the onion domes of St.Basil's Cathedral.

A stroll through the back streets will however, reveal delicate Orthodox churches and pretty courtyards.

Moscow's ornate marble Metro is not only a practical way of getting around but a tourist attraction in itself. Moscow remains the heart of Russia, and is an imposing city of bustling activity.

The National is located in the very heart of the city, overlooking the Kremlin and is truly first class.
