For centuries Gdansk had been a very important and strategically-placed Baltic port. The interesting architecture of the Old Town features mainly Gothic and Renaissance elements.

Narrow cobbled streets, old Dutch-style burghers' houses and beautiful waterfront promenades create a very interesting city break destination in a relaxing atmosphere.

The city was the cradle of the Solidarity movement which eventually helped to overthrow the communist regime in the early 90's.

Situated in the heart of the Old Town of Gdansk, the Hevelius makes an excellent base from where to explore this fascinating city.
